Our Teachers
Our crew are more than just teachers—we’re a community of passionate humans who love movement, breath, and connection. Each of us brings our own flavour to the mat: some steeped in tradition, others playful and curious, all united by a love of yoga and its power to transform.

We’re here to welcome you exactly as you are. Whether you’re stepping into your first class, deepening your practice, or just seeking a quiet moment away from the busyness of life, you’ll find someone in our crew who resonates with you.
From strong and sweaty flows to soft and soothing practices, from philosophy nerds to anatomy geeks, from parents and artists to lifelong students of life—we’re a community of different paths weaving together in one Wild space.

At the heart of it all, we share a simple belief: yoga is for everyone. And we can’t wait to practice with you.

Our Story
Wild was born from a simple idea: create a space where people feel at home in their bodies, connected to each other, and free to explore what yoga can really be. What started as a small dream to bring more breath, movement, and community into Canberra has grown into a vibrant hub of practice and connection.
We’ve walked this path alongside our students—building slowly, listening deeply, and shaping the studio into what it is today: a place where strength and softness sit side by side, and where every person who walks through the door is welcomed as part of the Wild family.
Meet The Team

Katie
Katie is a champion of rest, of bringing peace through the more subtle practices of yoga - restorative yoga is her great love. She has a focus on accessibility in her classes - pregnant mummas, larger bodies, neurodiverse, people who are burnt out or if you just need to rest and nourish yourself. Everyone is welcome.
Katie also teaches yoga history and philosophy, meditation, mantra, yin yoga and Himalayan kundalini yoga. India has been her greatest influence in her yoga teaching and where she first practiced yoga over 25 years ago. Katie also supports women with breast cancer to navigate their journeys with yoga and meditation.

Han
Empowered by a lifetime of exploring movement, Han provides a compassionate and nurturing environment where people can find their groove both physically and mentally. Trained and certified as a vinyasa, restorative, trauma informed, pre and postnatal yoga teacher and Pilates, barre, mobility and dance teacher, she endeavours to share her immense love of teaching and learning with the community.

Kat
One of Canberra’s only dedicated Ashtanga teachers, Kat is passionate about keeping this traditional practice alive and accessible. As a physiotherapist, she brings an informed and intelligent approach to movement, ensuring her students are supported every step of the way. Kat’s teaching is equal parts disciplined, grounded, and inspiring.

Vee
Veronika loves the way yoga makes her feel — strong, clear and connected — and she’s passionate about sharing that magic with everyone who walks into her class. One of the happiest and friendliest faces you’ll meet in the studio, Vee brings warmth and genuine care into every space she holds. She aims to cultivate acceptance, encouraging students to celebrate exactly where they’re at rather than striving for somewhere else. Vee firmly believes yoga is for every body, and that practice makes progress. Her classes are supportive, uplifting and grounded in encouragement — with plenty of options and a steady reminder to move in a way that honours you. And if you’re lucky enough to land in her Savasana, you’ll experience one of her signature gentle assists — the kind that leave you melting into the mat.

Mel
Mel loves connection — between people, between breath and body, between effort and surrender. She’s endlessly curious about transitions, not just on the mat but in life, and is always exploring the full range of human experience. Her classes are authentic, often energetic and usually a little playful. Expect creative sequencing, intelligent layering and space to both build heat and soften into something deeper. Mel shares inspiration to support your personal practice, while keeping everything grounded, relatable and real. For Mel, yoga is about freedom in every sense of the word — freedom in the body, freedom in the mind, freedom from old patterns and stories. She weaves perspective and gratitude through her teaching, inviting students to shift how they see themselves and the world around them.
.

Beth
Beth is a lover of all types of movement, passionate about building strong bodies and healthy, resilient minds. Her classes are strong, creative and flowing — thoughtfully designed to challenge you while keeping you deeply connected to your breath. Breath-led movement is at the heart of Beth’s teaching. You can expect intelligent sequencing, steady progression and a consistent reminder to let the breath guide the practice. She encourages students to explore what it feels like to be grounded, present and content on the mat — with the hope that these states gently spill into everyday life. Beth has a particular soft spot for balancing poses, inviting you to find steadiness within challenge and curiosity within wobble.

Donna
Donna brings a gentle, kind and deeply nurturing energy to the studio. With her quiet presence and soft approach, she creates a calm and supportive space where students feel safe to slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with themselves. Her teaching is thoughtful and unhurried, guided by intuition as much as knowledge. Donna has a beautiful way of noticing the subtle — the breath, the tension, the emotion beneath the surface — and invites you to meet yourself there with compassion rather than expectation. Her classes are an invitation to soften and be held. Expect slow, intentional movement, space between moments and time to truly settle. In a world that often asks us to do more and move faster, Donna offers something different — a return to stillness, steadiness and self-trust.

Tamsyn
Tamsyn brings a soft, kind and nurturing energy to every class she teaches, creating a space where students feel deeply supported and genuinely cared for. As a qualified osteopath, she carries a rich understanding of the body and the mind–body connection. This knowledge weaves seamlessly into her teaching — not in a clinical way, but in a way that feels intelligent, embodied and accessible. She has a natural ability to explain movement with clarity, helping students understand not just what they’re doing, but why. Her quiet presence and thoughtful guidance invite you to explore your practice with awareness, ease and compassion. Tamsyn encourages curiosity over force, steadiness over striving, and connection over performance.

Indy
Studio dog Indy is a long-time yoga enthusiast with a deep appreciation for pats, people and a good sheepskin. Now 12, Indy is enjoying the slower pace of life. After many years of dedicated studio attendance, she’s perfected the art of calm presence — even while navigating the daily enthusiasm of her much younger brother, Teddy. Her favourite class is the 10am Friday flow, where you’ll often find her resting at the front, quietly holding space in her own way. Indy reminds us all that sometimes the most important practice is simply being — preferably somewhere soft, warm and surrounded by good humans.

Sarah
Sarah is an absolute rockstar teacher — dynamic, inspiring, and deeply grounded. She has a unique gift for holding space and creating experiences that stay with her students long after class ends. Whether guiding a powerful flow or a slower, more intentional practice, Sarah weaves strength, presence, and creativity together in a way that is truly her own. Practicing with her is more than a class — it’s an experience.

Matty
Matty brings the perfect blend of banter, depth and grounded presence to every class. He’s all about real-life connections — weaving yoga philosophy into everyday moments in a way that actually makes sense (and often makes you laugh). He holds space with steadiness and ease, creating a vibe that feels both strong and welcoming. Expect thoughtful sequencing, room to explore, and a solid dose of Skandasana. Matty’s classes are equal parts connection, challenge and good energy — the kind you walk out of feeling stronger, lighter and a little more yourself.

Justine
Justine’s classes are filled with warmth, joy, and her signature smile that lights up the room. Always happy and deeply passionate about Yin yoga, she creates a calm and inviting space where students can soften, release, and reconnect. Her love for the practice shines through in every class, leaving you feeling nourished, supported, and uplifted.

Kate
Kate’s classes are flowing, challenging, fun and relaxed — the kind where you’ll work hard, laugh a little and leave feeling lighter. Also a DJ, Kate brings an intuitive feel for rhythm and energy into the room. Her playlists are intentional, her sequencing has flow, and there’s always a sense of vibe woven through the practice. For Kate, yoga isn’t about perfection or performance; it’s about presence, perspective and learning how to meet yourself honestly in each moment. With plenty of options on offer and absolutely no expectations, Kate invites you to leave your ego at the door and discover the wonder of the present moment.

Marcus
Marcus first came to yoga after retiring from competitive cycling. Following a few years of very little movement, he was introduced to yoga by his wife and a work colleague — and quickly discovered it was nothing like the free yoga DVD he’d picked up with a newspaper a decade earlier. Drawn in by the physicality of the practice and the exploration of energy moving through the body, Marcus immersed himself in consistent studio practice. An early riser and lover of a hot room, incense, and strong, challenging poses, Marcus creates classes that are powerful, focused and energising. Expect heat, depth and the kind of steady intensity that builds resilience — physically and mentally.

Sue
Sue brings a kind, warm, and gentle presence to every class she teaches. With a love for yoga that spans restorative, yin, and vinyasa practices, she creates spaces where students feel deeply supported and at ease. Her classes invite you to slow down, connect with your body and breath, and discover strength and softness in equal measure. Whether you’re seeking rest, release, or mindful movement, Sue’s nurturing approach makes everyone feel welcome.

Cybelle
With many years of practice behind her, Cybelle brings depth and steadiness to the mat. She enjoys exploring all styles of yoga and weaves this love of variety into her teaching, creating balanced and accessible classes. Grounded and calm, Cybelle holds space with ease, guiding students to connect more fully with themselves through breath, movement, and presence.

Charlotte
Charlotte brings youthful energy and a fiery passion to her teaching. She loves guiding strong, dynamic practices that challenge and empower, while always holding space with warmth and care. A true burst of energy, Charlotte’s classes leave you feeling both enlivened and inspired.

Chris
Chris is the founder of Frontline Yoga and leads our Frontline classes at Wild. He is deeply passionate about bringing trauma-informed practices to the community, making yoga accessible and supportive for those who need it most. With a steady and compassionate approach, Chris creates safe spaces where students can reconnect with themselves, build resilience, and feel truly supported.

Yi Ning
Yi Ning brings strength, precision and great energy to every Pilates class she teaches. Her sessions focus on strong core work, smart layering and building intensity in a way that feels both challenging and empowering. With fun, motivating music and thoughtfully structured progressions, Yi Ning guides you step by step — helping you find depth in the movement while staying connected to control and form. Outside the studio, Yi Ning is a pharmacist, and that scientific understanding of the body shines through in her attention to detail and technique. Her classes are strong, intelligent and uplifting — designed to help you feel powerful from the inside out.

Mal
Mal brings a soft, grounded presence to every class he teaches. With a lifelong passion for movement, his practice has evolved into a deep appreciation for the slower, steadier rhythms of Yin. Having studied in India, Mal carries his learning with humility and quiet strength. He holds space in a way that feels calm, steady and deeply supportive — inviting students to slow down, soften and truly listen. His classes offer a gentle reset for the nervous system and a chance to reconnect with yourself beneath the noise.

Hayden
Hayden brings a calm, grounded energy to every class — the kind that instantly makes you feel welcome. By day, he’s a primary school teacher, and that natural warmth and patience flows seamlessly into his teaching. His smile genuinely lights up the room, and he has a beautiful ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Hayden’s classes are steady, supportive and inclusive — creating space for you to move, breathe and feel at ease exactly as you are. Expect thoughtful guidance, a down-to-earth approach and a practice that feels both grounding and uplifting.

Shan
Shan is all about healthy, functional movement. Her Pilates classes are strong, precise and intentionally designed to build deep body awareness — not just moving, but understanding how and why you move.
An avid mountain biker and runner, Shan knows firsthand how powerful Pilates can be as part of an existing training routine. She believes it’s a valuable addition to any fitness regimen — and equally transformative as a stand-alone practice. Expect intelligent sequencing, focused strength work and education woven throughout. Shan’s approach builds muscle tone, improves mobility and strengthens the body from the inside out — helping you move better in sport, in the studio and in everyday life.

Shelby
Shelby’s yoga journey began in Butterfly pose — the day she realised she could no longer rest her head on her toes and knew it was time to book into a class. She was instantly hooked when she discovered yoga’s positive overflow into every corner of her life. Since then, Shelby has continued to follow that curiosity and inspiration, training in Vinyasa, Yin, Acroyoga, Prenatal, Postnatal and Kids Yoga. Her classes are thoughtful and creative, designed to tune into the heart and cultivate a sense of expansion and joy that ripples far beyond the mat. Outside the studio, Shelby is happiest adventuring with her family — snowboarding, wakeboarding, skateboarding, climbing, camping and walking her Kelpie.

Emily
Emily is a deeply skilled and creative teacher who is truly loved by all who practise with her. Her classes are thoughtfully crafted, weaving intelligent sequencing with an intuitive sense of flow and feeling. A genuine soul with a kind and steady nature, Emily brings warmth and authenticity into every space she holds. As a mother, she understands the rhythm of real life — the juggle, the joy, the need to pause — and this lived wisdom gently shapes her teaching. Expect creativity, care and a class that feels both nourishing and empowering. Emily creates spaces where you feel seen, supported and inspired to move in a way that honours your whole self.

Julieanne
Julieanne’s classes are welcoming and accessible for all levels of experience. She is deeply passionate about encouraging students to love and look after themselves, creating a space where everybody feels comfortable exploring their own practice — no matter their age, flexibility or fitness level.
With years of experience teaching faster-paced flows, Julieanne understands the power of dynamic movement. But it was through discovering Yin yoga that something truly shifted. She fell in love with its depth, stillness and capacity to nourish both body and mind.
Now, she thoughtfully weaves Yin elements into her classes whenever she can — offering moments of pause, softness and reflection alongside steady movement.

Teddy
Teddy is our newest studio addition — an enthusiastic Aussie Shepherd currently living his best life trying to round up anything that moves. Full of energy, curiosity and boundless personality, Teddy is in the early stages of support dog training so that he can spend more time at the studio in the future. For now, he’s focusing on mastering the fine art of calm… which is a work in progress. When he’s not attempting to herd humans, yoga mats or unsuspecting siblings (sorry Indy), he’s learning how to channel that big puppy energy into something a little more studio-friendly. He’ll be back once he’s discovered the magic of stillness — or at least slightly less movement.
Laura moves through life the way she moves on the mat — with rhythm, passion and a whole lot of soul. Our salsa-dancing, music-loving South American queen brings warmth, energy and joy wherever she goes. There’s a natural flow to the way she teaches — intuitive, expressive and grounded in feeling rather than force. A little cheeky and always up for fun, Laura doesn’t take herself too seriously — but she takes her practice seriously. She honours the philosophy, respects the tradition, and teaches with intention and heart. An outdoorsy spirit at heart — that sense of freedom carries into her classes. She also loves a chat. Community matters to her. Whether it’s a laugh before class, a thoughtful check-in after, or a shared story on the mat, Laura creates an environment where people feel welcomed, seen and part of something.
